Studies for a multi - denominational spiritual space for Medway Crematorium.
The design was based on making a place for reflection and for the last rites.
The room is constructed in limestone. Qualities of light would reflect off honed , polished, and rough pieces of limestone on the floor and walls.
The entrance and detailing were subtle. The main door is hidden. Visitors walk around a corner to enter and leave. All light fixtures are hidden and built into the wall surfaces. A single window frames a single fruit tree in the garden.
